Re-Adoption
Today was a special day for me and Maggie. I was able to readopt her today. What is readoption you ask? When you adopt from a foreign country you are given all the paperwork needed for adoption. However, the paperwork is in Chinese and can prove to be very hard to replace if needed.
When Maggie begins school, signs up for sports, gets married, etc. she will need her birth certificate. Well, it is in Chinese. So I once again paid money to our US government to readopt Maggie in Alabama so she will have an Alabama Birth Certificate. It was painless (well except for the money part LOL) and took just a few minutes.
The attorney I used likes to do the readoptions in St. Clair County for the ease. So I took off work, grabbed Maggie and off we went to St. Clair County. She is now readopted in the State of Alabama. Enjoy the pictures!
Maggie in her sweet white dress with pearls!!!
Entertaining a cranky toddler (no nap)
More of me entertaining Maggie - she loved the camera!
Boy it was a long wait...
After being sworn in, going through the paperwork with my attorney (on right) and the Judge (on left)
Judge signing the Decree.
Maggie got candy...
Introducing Alabama resident, Maggie!!! Picture with the Judge and my attorney!
Being Re-Adopted is exhausting...

I am sure the exhaustion part is true for momma as well, but there are no naps for us. I am so very happy for you and Maggie. It has been a long, incredible journey and yesterday was just a bonus making it all official. Welcome to Alabama Maggie! Now she has to start saying stuff like "ya'll" and making no word have any less than 3 syllables. As always, I'm praying for you two.
