Day 10 - Officially a Family - The Market and a Cruise

Pictures taking a long time to upload - I am tired - will upload tomorow

Day 10

Well it is official, Maggie is my daughter in the eyes of the USA! She will become a citizen when her feet hit the ground in Los Angeles. I am so excited! Tomorrow we have our swearing in ceremony in the afternoon at the US Consulate. There can be no cameras so we will not have a picture of this.

In the morning we will go to the oldest Buddist Temple - it is 1200 years old. Then we are off to the toy market then home for a nap. We have been gone the last 2 days during the day so Maggie has not had a nap. This has caused for many a early nights for her.

Today DuPre, Jennifer, Mom and I and the girls walked through the market. This is where they have the eels, starfish, scorpions, snakes, etc. It was pretty cool. I have attached some pics below for your enjoyment! People purchase all of these items for meals.

We walked thru the market and went to Pizza Hut - YUMMY!!!! Then off to the mall to shop around again. It was a really fun day and I just love spending time in the "real" China!

Tonight we went with most of our group and went on a cruise. The Pearl River runs right next to our hotel and it was a fun dinner cruise. The items on the dinner buffet were hysterical. For Example, they had Toasted Goose Duck . We didn't even know what that was. The view was really nice but cold. The temperature today and tomorrow is rather chilly so I wrapped Maggie up. One of my co-workers, Renee Smith, made Maggie some caps and I put one on her today - It was so cute and people stopped me on the street and pointed to her hat and gave a thumbs up. Thanks Renee - that was fun!

Maggie continues to do well. She definately knows her momma and likes to play with Gran. I just still cannot believe that she is my child - I am so lucky! God is so faithful to see me thru this process and I know without a shadow of a doubt that He orchestrated this whole process and brought us together to be a family.

Enjoy the pics! We leave on Friday to be home on Saturday night! We can't wait.

Love to all,

Tricia

Haven't been able to check the blog in a few days. The greatest thing of all huge smiles from Maggie. I've so wanted to see that. She is going to adjust just fine. Am glad you didn't return to the orphanage. Safe travels home!

I haven't left a comment in the past couple of days, but I'm still following. I know you're ready to get home and start your new life together. Have a safe and uneventful trip home...well, except for the good events (Maggie becoming a US citizen, real ice and Diet Coke, your own bed).
