Busy Saturday
Today was a busy day. I began decorating the nursery.. Below are some before pictures, with the mess, and some with a few changes. I took down the ceiling fan light and put up a single fixture light. I had a cute Chinese paper lantern that I used as the globe. It turned out cute.
I took a car load of items to the thrift store. My garage needs clearing out and I had some baby items that are too young for Maggie that someone else can use. Hopefully I can get my car in the garage soon! LOL
I took off to WalMart and Target tonight to get the necessary items for Maggie. Dr. Chambers at the International Adoption Clinic here in Birmingham sent me a list of items to purchase and take with me for Maggie. Who knew all of these items would be so expensive!. I had to go to Target to get diapers because WalMart was out of Size 3 Huggies? What is this, a run on diapers this weekend?
I was a lot of fun buying baby things. We should have enough supples also for the first couple of days home. Mom is now going to China with me. She was going to set up the house for me while I was gone. So I am doing it now.
I have an absolutely sweet cousin and family, Leigh and Charles. They are donating some Delta miles for my trip to China. Along with my vouchers from last week traveling and a good friend of the family's (Grisham's) vouchers, I should have enough for my and Maggie's tickets. I guess mom will have to travel on the wing! LOL
It is almost here! I am so excited but a little nervous too. I know my life is about to be turned upside down. I welcome it and planned for it. But poor Maggie has no idea what is about to happen to her. Bless her little heart. She is going to be taken away from everything and everyone she has known for 19 months. Please pray for her. Also, if you have a prayer or two left over, please throw one up for Izzy, my dog. She knows something is up and is already acting all clingy.
Tomorrow is continuation of decorating the nursery! FUN.

What a clever idea on your light fixture. Is that just a paper lantern?

Kim,
Yes it is a $1.59 paper lantern. I made sure that the light bulb from the ceiling fan is well protected and not near it. I thought it turned out cute!
