iIs this what it is going to be like????

Ok so tonight I am keeping the nursery at church like I do every Wednesday.  I keep the little ones when they learn to walk - say 11 months old to 19 month olds.  We had a new little one join us tonight and he looked Chinese.  I must admit that I am not to good at knowing whether an Asian child is Vietnam, Chinese, Koran or Japanese yet.

His name is Kevin and he just screamed his head off.  He cried so hard that he started throwing up.  I kept saying Wo Ai Ni (means I LOVE YOU in Chinese but I probably spelled it wrong not to mention said it wrong)  That is the only thing I know in Chinese!  LOL

He was probably about 14 months old or so and just was pitiful.  It turned out that he has been in the States for 4 days from China and didn't speak any English.  He has been living with his grandparents in China until now.  He would only let me hold him but didn't want me to hold him either.  It was horrible!!!!!  I felt so sorry for him.... As soon as his parents came to get him, he was fine.

Is this what Maggie is going to do when I get her?  If so I don't know if I can handle that.  It just breaks my heart!  I have never felt so helpless before!

Maggie, I pray that you will know that I am your mom.  That you will have peace with me and know that I love you!

It took several months for Natalie to like me. She tolerated me pretty well after the first week.

      Kim,
That is good to know.  Your Natalie is just precious!  I'm so sorry about the house.  There will be a better one down the line.  Thanks!

It was probably ill-advised to leave Kevin in the nursery after only 4 days in the U.S. Kevin needs more time to be secure in his bond with parents. He probably felt abandoned, again. Your son is a gift from God and may need to be put first above church or taken into church with the parents.

    Tricia,

Love grows... I adopted my daughter from China 3 years ago (single mom) and although she learned to call me momma quickly, the love grows. Don't worry....it will.

Blessings to you and the wonderful thing you are doing. God is good!
