Here we go again....
Well, round two has started! My 171H will expire soon from the CIS (Citizen and Immigration Service) here in the good ole USA! So I must redo some of my paperwork. China doesn't have paperwork that expires but the USA does!!!
The first thing to get redone is my medical information. Yes, that means that I must be tested yet again for HIV, which means a delightful trip down to the Jefferson County Health Department. WhooooHoooo. I went on Friday and I must say that it was not as exciting as last time. This time though, the guy who was drawing the blood could not find my veins! After one stuck in my arm and one very PAINFUL stick in my hand, he called another co-worker to come and try. She stuck me yet again in the hand and WOW did that hurt. Finally I started to bleed and all is well with my blood.
I will have to wait 2 weeks for the results of the HIV test. Next, I will have to get all the normal blood work from my doctor. Luckily, I just went to see her a couple of weeks ago so the tests taken then should be fine. I probably will have to pay for a Hep. screening which was pretty expensive ($60) or so if I remember.
After the medical information is in, I can then submit my 2006 taxes, certificate of profession and salary, police clearance application, and my financial information to Lifeline. Anna, my social worker will have to revisit my home for an update to my homestudy then all of that paperwork will be resubmitted to CIS for an updated 171H. I am still under the impression that I will NOT have to pay the $700 to have this renewed. Our government apparently decided that we can have ONE free renewal of our paperwork.
Next will come an update to my fingerprints. Like I would have robbed a bank or killed someone while waiting for my child from China! Oh, well, what is another $80 for that? "Bitter, party of ONE?????"
As for the news, I still am in the Review Room but I haven't heard anything from them!!!! July should be out of the Review Room soon as June only took 28 days. Once I am cleared from the Review Room, my dossier to adopt Maggie will be placed at the bottom of a stack until my time comes. The wait is currently 21 months and rising. I fully expect to wait a total of 2 years. Remember, I am already 1 year into the wait with China so I am anticipating next fall? Your guess is as good as mine!!!!
Please continue to pray for Maggie's parents! The time is coming near that she will be born! I pray for a sucessful birth and for her mom as she realizes she must give her up. God please place a circle of peace around the mother that she will know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that her child will be loved and taken care of.
I pray for Maggie's nannies at the orphanage that they will love her and take care of her. I pray for her to be a loud, animated and talkative baby (I may regret that later! HA HA HA) so that she will demand attention of the nannies. Note: the quiet babies are sometimes left to fend for themselves and the loud babies are usually taken care of first.
I really appreciate all of you, my friends and family, taking this journey with me! Your prayers and good wishes are keeping me inching along to the time when I will become a mother! Thank you!
Tricia
