It has been a YEAR!!!

December 15

Time is approaching!  On December 29, 2006, it will have been a year since I started the process.  This year has gone by so fast in some aspects but really slow in others.  My life has taken a 180 degree turn.  I am preparing for the most important job I will ever have.  To be a mother!!!!!

Those of you who know me well, know that I have organized and researched everything to death!!!!  I know, it is a sickness, but I want to be ready for her.  Through all the craziness, I seem to have forgotten to organize and clean my house - shame on me!!!!

I guess you can say that I was "pregnant" on July 22, 2006.  Apparently, this adoption thing is with the gestation of an elephant!  I am attaching one of my ultrasounds of my pregnancy.  Isn't it great????

Next on the horizon is to paint her room and purchase her furniture.  Laurie Loyd (godmother to Maggie) and I went shopping last Saturday for baby cribs and such.  It was so much fun to see all that was out there.  For those of you who have a baby coming, just here or a toddler around the family, you must buy the Baby Bargins books.  They are awesome!  They list everyone that a baby or toddler would ever need and rate the manufacturers of the products.  This book will help you get the best price for your money.  YOu can find them at www.babybargins.com  I am in no way affiliated with them, just loved the book.

Another book I am reading is Adoption Parenting.  You can find this book here:  http://www.emkpress.com/adoptparent.html  Again I am not affiliated with this book either.  This book dives deeply into the attachment issues that Maggie will/may have.  It discusses how to discipline an adotive baby that spent time in an orphanage, etc.  I am really enjoying it and learning a lot.

Well that get me up to date on my blog.  Please keep praying for Maggie and her mother.  I could use some more prayers as well   If you know of any people that would like to purchase a cookbook, please let me know!

I hope that you all have a fabulous and blessed Christmas.  Be safe and happy!

Love,

Tricia
