Blood Work and Shots
Today was a painful day!!!!
I ventured out to the Jefferson County Health Department to get some blood work done. After being sent to 4 different locations within the same building, I finally ended up back where I started to get my test. Why they couldn't have done it the first time, who knows?
I got my HIV blood test done but won't know the results until 2 weeks possibly. Then off to another department to get my immunizations for traveling to China. The HIV test was FREE (YEA!) but the 2 immunizations were $67.60 - not as bad as if I had them done at the doctor's office or UAB Traveller's Clinic.
I had to have a tetanus booster and a Hepatitis A & B shot. Luckily, now there is one series of shots for both A & B. It takes 3 shots to get through the series so I started it now so I won't have to rush it later.
The nurse said that my arms will be sore for the next few days (YIPPEE!). Anyway, that is done. I just have to have one more test at my doctor's office to complete the whole medical information packet.
I'll post later if my arms will let me! God Bless...
Tricia
