The Paperchase has started!
Yesterday was a very busy day with the adoption process. I went to get my fingerprints done at the Pelham Police Station. It was pretty cool. They don't use the black ink pad like we all see on TV. They have a red type ink pad that barely stains your fingers. Then they place your fingerprint card into a machine that turns them black. I am a little worried about them because several of my fingerprints looked to be smeared. I hope that they will be usable. Anna, my social worker, told me that it can take up to 3 months to complete the fingerprinting and background checks.
Once home, began putting together a list of documents that Anna needs for my home study. I completed as many of the requested documents as I could: photo of me, copy of driver's license, copy of insurance form, copy of birth certificates, copy of Izzy's (my puppy) vaccination tag, copy of passport, Agency Agreement signed, Release of Information signed, Agreement for Anna to conduct a home study, Fingerprint paperwork, International Pre-Adoption Counseling form signed, and a check.
I also faxed my medical forms to my doctor hoping that she will be able to get them back to me as soon as possible.
Since I work for a law firm, I have an abundance of notaries to help me. Teresa M. has graciously agreed to be my primary notary when I need it.
All I have left to do for my home study is a series of detailed questions, my required reading, and my autobiography. Yeah, just that - no problem!!! These are the hardest documents to complete.
Anna will be coming to my house on Monday for my second home study meeting. This is the one home visit that she must do - so guess who will be cleaning this weekend????
Thank you again for all of your prayers. Trusting in God to provide guidance and financial support.....
